About Bob Pressner
For most Americans, 9/11 was a jarring wake-up call that reminded us that we can’t take our lives—or our freedoms--for granted, and that time is a precious gift that’s not guaranteed. But it was the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 which sparked the epiphany that changed Bob Pressner’s life. Working as a commodities trader at the WTC, the now Florida based singer/songwriter breathed in some of the bomb material and became sick from it. Though he had been pursuing his music on the side, this experience was the spark that inspired him to pursue his dreams more urgently. His latest CD, the dynamic and edgy, heartfelt and somewhat ironically titled "Honor Among Thieves", is the culmination of a recording and live performance career that began in the mid-90s, shortly after this unexpected life changing experience.
A unique and inspiring reflection of Pressner’s burning desire to return to a sense of “Woodstockian” personal freedom, "Honor Among Thieves" was produced by Nashville based multiple Grammy nominated platinum selling producer and songwriter David Grow, whose vast resume of credits includes Jim Brickman, Collin Raye, Michael W. Smith, Michael Bolton, Carly Simon, Linda Eder, Dobie Gray, Richie Havens and Chicago’s Jimmy Pankow. Grow, says of Pressner: “After working with so many famous artists, it’s wonderful to produce someone that the average pop/rock fan has not heard of yet is one of the most artistic souls I’ve ever met. Bob deserves success beyond his wildest imagination and we wish that for him.”
"Honor Among Thieves" is something of an ode to the unique dual life Pressner has led for years. Working in the commodities world as he became a well respected independent artist, the Florida based multi-talented performer has mastered the art of living a unique “double life”—the theme of a book he is writing called “Diversify Yourself.” From his perspective, it’s okay to shoot for the stars both financially and artistically, and in these times of need, it’s a good idea to explore different paths that can provide artistic expression and financial stability.
